OBJECTIVES

Board Recruitment

  • SPEF’s Board of Directors, with leadership from its Nominating and Recruitment Committee, will continue to prioritize diversity in its recruitment efforts with intentionality embedded in their approach to ensure the Board of Directors’ composition is reflective of the constituents SPEF serves.

Committee Oversight

  • The SPEF Board of Directors has established a DEI committee to oversee, implement, and refine the organization’s DEI Action Plan and identify policies and practices in education that contribute to systemic racism.

Data Reporting

  • 100% of program reporting will include race and ethnic demographics of constituents served as well as performance metrics by subgroups to identify participation levels and trends over time.

Education

  • The organization’s staff will continually engage in professional development that is inclusive and anti-racist.
  • The DEI Committee will create education opportunities for the Board of Directors that will be embedded in the board’s meeting agendas.

Hiring Practices

  • SPEF’s leadership team will prioritize diversity in its hiring decisions and expand its staff recruitment efforts to include sourcing strategies that target diverse candidates.
