- Delivered Stamford Mentoring Program to 900 students
- Provided 16,000 hours of math tutoring for 90 ninth and tenth grade students
- Distributed 5,000+ new books
- Served 232 children and parents through Family Literacy Nights in Stamford’s south end
- Supported 102 students and 14 teams for the Odyssey of the Mind program (completed against 175 teams at the Connecticut State Tournament, with 4 teams advancing to the World Finals)
STAMFORD, CT — September 7, 2018 — Since 1996, the Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF) has been a local non-profit organization serving thousands of students and their families. The Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF) has awarded SPEF a $25,000 grant to support its operating costs; ultimately, allowing the organization to continue to enrich the community.
SPEF provides programs and resources that elevate student, educator and parent success. Grants that support operating expenses, such as the one received from FCCF, help staff SPEF’s programs and run its agency more effectively. Within 2017—2018, SPEF has achieved the following:
