STAMFORD, CT — April 24, 2019 — The Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF), in partnership with The Ferguson Library and Mill River Park Collaborative, will be hosting Books Across Stamford on Saturday, May 4th from 11AM to 2PM at Mill River Park in Stamford (near the Carousel facing West Broad Street). Books Across Stamford is a bi-annual event that encourages literacy by allowing children to select new books for building their home libraries and encouraging a love for reading. Pitney Bowes and the Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk have generously donated new books for SPEF to distribute to children, pre-K through 5th grade, attending this event.
In addition to the book give-away, the event will feature a Camp Exposition including SPEF, the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, Peak Performance, SoundWaters, and others, showcasing their youth summer programs. Professional Storyteller April Armstrong will entertain the crowd with interactive multi-cultural and African-American stories at 12 and 1:00 PM. Spring crafting, themed music and Food Trucks will also be at the event making a perfect Springtime Celebration!
Book Across Stamford: A Springtime Celebration is a free event.
