The WHS Class of ’74 has been raising funds every reunion year and issuing need-based scholarships to Westhill HS graduating seniors. Since our 10th reunion, we have awarded more than $18,000 in scholarships.
Once students meet certain criteria, the selection(s) are made. Money goes directly to the scholarship winner(s) at the end of August to help offset additional costs of continuing their education at a college or university, a trade school, or a community college. Over the years, funds have been used to help students pay for books, computers, items for dorm rooms, transportation, and other needs.
We have found this to be quite impactful for students.
This year, we are excited to announce that we are now under the umbrella of the Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF), a 501c3 so your donations are tax deductible!
We look forward to continuing to support students in their pursuit of continuing education. We hope in the years ahead to be able to award scholarships each year.
