The Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI)

Stamford’s Parent Leadership Training Institute Design Team in partnership with the Stamford Public Education Foundation is pleased to announce Stamford’s 23rd Class of Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) where in-depth leadership training will be offered to 20-25 selected participants. Stamford PLTI is looking for parents, grandparents, guardians or other adults wishing to improve the lives of children, families, and communities to join the 2023 PLTI program beginning this January in a hybrid setting.
Los participantes se convertirán en defensores de los niños a través de:
– Un retiro de construcción comunitaria en persona los sábados
– A 10-week hybrid instructional course on community and personal development, plus an
in-person Saturday session
– A 10-week hybrid civics course on politics, policy and media
– Un proyecto comunitario escrito
Candidates will be selected from a pool of diverse applicants. The Institute is free; your contribution is your time and commitment.
The training will be offered in a hybrid model, with a virtual orientation on January 17th, an in-person all day retreat on Saturday, January 21st and classes continuing on Thursday evenings for 20 weeks until June via Zoom, except one class per month in-person. There will also be an in-person all day Saturday session on March 25th. Class is from 5:30pm to 9:00pm, beginning with networking and social time from 5:30-6pm and dinner when in-person. The training will be offered only in English.
Children of PLTI participants ages 5-12 may participate in our hybrid Children’s Leadership
Training Institute (CLTI)- a literacy-based curriculum that parallels PLTI’s weekly topics. Participating children get a new book every week!
