Helping Students Excel in the Classroom

One of SPEF’s longstanding programs, Math Lab, was launched in conjunction with Stamford Public Schools in August 2014, with three primary objectives: to raise student achievement, improve executive functioning skills, and to increase parental connectedness. These objectives align with the Stamford Public Schools’ goal of ensuring that all students are college and career ready. Today, Math Lab provides daily tutoring to over 100 students at Stamford High School and Westhill High School.

Students who enroll in the program receive support based on their individual needs. Students meet with professional tutors for one period every school day to address their specific needs and questions. In an approximate ratio of 3 students:1 tutor, SPEF provides quality tutors who have undergone extensive screening programs, ensuring that they are proficient in math, and excel in all types of tutoring dynamics. Our tutors are passionate about seeing students succeed and watching them learn and grow.

Math Lab has a high success rate, with most students who enroll seeing significant improvement in their foundational math skills.
